Skips vary in size from two yard to forty yard, the most commonly used skip is a six yard builders skips which is around the size of a small car. Skips can come as covered or uncovered.
We cover all areas of the UK.
Skip prices vary according to size and availability for a particular area.
The period of time that you hire a skip for can vary. The average skip hire is between 7-14 days, however longer periods can be discussed.
Where. you decide to place the skip on your property is entirely up to you. however, it is advisable to keep in mind the ease of access for the delivery and collection of the skip.
This is possible but you will need to notify the skip company before they deliver. They will however not be held responsible to any damage caused.
There is a possibility that a skip could cause damage, this depends of the weight and size of the skip and the drive way itself for example soft tarmac or block paving. in order to minimalize the chance of damage we recommend placing a large piece of chipboard underneath the skip.
If you plan to put the skip on a pavement or public road then you will need a skip permit, sometimes called a skip license. If it is to be placed on private land or a driveway then you don’t need a permit. In most cases, the skip company will sort this out for you.
Skips can be used for removing non-hazardous waste material for instance building waste, household items as well as green waste etc. If you want to get rid of hazardous waste you’ll need special permits and containers.
No hazardous waste, this includes TV's, monitors, fridges, paint, solvents, liquids or any asbestos based products. If you need to dispose of these types of materials, we suggest you contact your local council. Loading these materials and items into skip can lead to extra charges.
Every skip has what is known as a skip level, and waste cannot go above this line. This is to ensure the safety of the driver who is removing the skip and the safety of other road users. By law the skip driver can refuse to take the skip if it has been overfilled. If you do overfill then you may be asked to remove items before it is moved by the skip company.
Waste is disposed of in accordance with all local council regulations.
